Raipur: The Indian Institute of Management Raipur (IIM Raipur), in collaboration with NIT Raipur and IIT Bhilai, held a high-level dialogue with representatives from the Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore to explore new avenues of academic and research cooperation.
The meeting comes as part of celebrations marking 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore.

Senior academic leaders including Prof Sanjeev Prashar, Director-In-Charge of IIM Raipur, Prof Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, and Dr N V Ramana Rao, Director of NIT Raipur, participated in the discussions alongside Ajit Bhatpahri, GM-CSTDC, Prof Sumeet Gupta from IIM Raipur, and Dr Anuj Shukla from NIT Raipur. The Singaporean delegation was led by Jerome Wong, Consul (Political), and Ms. Ericka.
The talks covered a broad spectrum of cooperation between the Government of Singapore and the State Government of Chhattisgarh. With Chhattisgarh emerging as a growing industrial base, semiconductor development and associated collaborations were highlighted as a potential area of focus.
Expanding Global Opportunities for IIM Raipur Students
The discussions also emphasized launching joint courses with Singapore universities, expanding international student exchange programs, and developing dual-degree programs.

The Singaporean representatives expressed readiness to facilitate stronger institutional linkages for collaborative research, academic exchanges, and future-ready skill development.
The importance of digital infrastructure and data centers was underscored as a key enabler for these academic and research collaborations.

Both Indian and Singaporean leaders reaffirmed their shared vision of creating platforms for joint research, innovation, and sustainable growth. By combining India’s innovation-driven educational institutions with Singapore’s expertise in skill-focused pedagogy, the initiative aims to design globally relevant programs that prepare students for the future.
The meeting concluded with a felicitation ceremony at IIM Raipur and a commitment to developing a roadmap for the joint initiatives discussed.
